What kind of transmission did D7 cat 47A have?

What kind of transmission did D7 cat 47A have?

The higher revving 6 cylinder caused problems with the same transmissions they used from the slower revving D7E in the first D7F’s. They changed that transmission to the smaller D6C transmission at about serial number 94N5192 and cured the problem. The 47A was a direct drive D7E. Buckethead, skyking1 and Rusted like this.

When did the last D7 cat come out?

That is a D7E and a fairly late one with a D339 high horsepower at 180 hp. The last one was around serial number 48A13718 or thereabouts. I think the D7F replaced them in 1970, which was a 6 cylinder machine. The 48A means that it was equipped with powershift transmission from the factory.

What was the transmission number on a 1968 D7 cat?

On the hydraulic tank there was a tag that had a 43H48A1 and the very back of the tractor left hand side there was stamped numbers 48A12562. By calling a friend at a CAT dealership he went into the legacy numbers and determined that it was a 68-69 with a 4 cylinder D339 and a powershift transmission part number 2S7900. That is all I have to go on.

When did Caterpillar stop making the D7 tractor?

Caterpillar dropped the “RD” designation at machine number 9G6501 with the tractor now just becoming the D7. Production ended in 1940 with more than 7000 machines manufactured. As America entered a war footing, a new version of the D7 was introduced, primarily intended for military service, but a great many were also sold into commercial use.

What kind of engine does a D7 cat have?

It has a 4 cylinder D339 engine and a power shift transmission. The dozer is tight and in very good shape. It has been on light farm duty since the early 80’s. This machine is a little bit bigger than what I have been looking for, but the price and being local has made it an option. I only need it for heavy pushing and I have a lot of it to do.
