Just reviving an old thread. In my 2018 Colorado, the radio will turn on, even though the key is not in the ignition, when i open the passenger door and it does not shut off when i close the passenger door. Is there a way to change this setting?

It was the oddest thing, and no matter how much I turned the key on and off, it wouldnt turn the radio off. So closed the passenger door, went to the drivers side, (door left open) cycled the key and poof, it went off. With the amount of computer electronics we have, it is bound to have a couple gremlins in it.

What Im saying is when I cut the car off and take keys out, the radio doesn’t cut off and the windows still are able to work AFTER I OPEN THE DOOR. Will that drain the battery? it just doesnt fell right cause I dont wanna be stranded any where because of this. I will need more information to get you a more accurate answer.

Anyone had the same problem? I am having the exact same problem on my 2002 escape, however, this happened after it sat for a long time and I had to change the battery. No Radio, No DOME light, Power locks will only work with the key in the on position.
