It sounds to me that your carbs might be a little gunked up – you mentioned the gas may have been old, so it’s possible that the smaller (idle) jets are slightly plugged up. Fresh fuel might do the trick and/or you could try using a fuel system cleaner and water remover. This problem might ‘solve itself’ with a little time.

Why is my Arctic Cat sled bogging down?
Hi I have an arctic cat zr 580 and just recently i went to go start it up she starts fine but as soon as the sled gets any resistance its starts to bog down i will have it at full throttle and would only be at 4rpm and the track would hardly spin . Then when i stop it idles really low then turns off.

Air leak on the ISC Valve would cause erratic idle issues. Also check the other O-rings on the throttle body. For what little they run replacement should be a no brainer!
What did Artic cat do to my Arctic Cat?
It has new plugs, new battery, new drive belt and I just had the clutch overhauled by the local Artic Cat dealer/service. They also checked out fuel pressure, compression and such and all were good. I top it off with fuel prior to leaving town.

Spray carb cleaner on the valve while running, see if the rpm raise’s. If so you have a leak in the valve. That is an expensive little devil! The connector on mine is FUBAR’ed, and I’m still looking for a pigtail to repair it! I jury rigged it for now! We got sidetracked! LOL Sorry Bout That! Crackling like electrical snap?
