Put solonoid relay on case 1840 uni-loader starter took care of starter problems. Easy fix. I have 1840 and have exact same issue as outlined by JD. Will start OK initially and after running for while if turned off will not start…that is started will click and engage but not turn over engine. Let it sit for while and the starter will turn over.

Hey Guys, There is a in-line fuse that can be accessed on the right side of the machine thru the main lift arm leading into the engine bay.This wire leads to the starter , It is an automotive style 2 prong push in fuse.On my 1840 that fuse , and holder, would get a bad connection and cause the exact condition described.
