He says the crank and block are different and heavier duty in the DT530. All electronic engine, with fantastic computer aided diagnostics available at most dealers.

The rear adapter plate is almost identical to the old style dt block but the crank has more holes for the flywheel bolts. In 1993 and 1994 the DT 530 used mechanical injection. After 1995 they went electronic in the trucks. The mechanical injection continued for a few more years in the Allis tractors. Interests:anything that moves with fuel !
Are there any problems with the DT 530?
The most common problems I’ve encountered is issues with this high pressure oil system. The pump sometimes leaks, the oil pressure regulator can get flaky, and the pressure sensor occasionally quits. Any decent shop can successfully diagnose and fix them, and parts are easy to get. I can’t imagine the 530 is remarkably different in this regard.
