How long does a DPF last for?

around 100,000 miles
How long should a DPF last? A DPF can last up to around 100,000 miles if maintained properly. After the car has exceeded that mileage, you could be looking at paying a large amount of money for a replacement – so always properly check MoT and service records when buying a used car.

The ECM will recognize that the DPF filters internals are missing. The Cummins ECM uses a Differential Pressure sensor to monitor exhaust flow through the filter. Once you remove the guts from the DPF, you will end up with a check engine light and the engine will eventually go into De-Rate.

How does DPF delete work on a Cummins 40420?

The Cummins ECM uses a Differential Pressure sensor to monitor exhaust flow through the filter. Once you remove the guts from the DPF, you will end up with a check engine light and the engine will eventually go into De-Rate. My understanding is that the 40420 does not have DPF delete capabilities.
