The brakes had a problem since we owned the 580, someone had put brake fluid in the system instead of TCH or Dexron ATF, needless to say it killed the rubber parts.
How long does it take to bleed a backhoe brake?
Depending how much crud you have to clean out under the floor mat and floor plate screw heads, it took me a good hour to bleed the brakes including dealing with seat removal. As with most brake bleeding, you will want to have a second person to push on the pedals as you work the bleeding fittings.
Where are the brake pads on a backhoe?
They are basically under the seat, so while you access by removing the rear floor plate in the cab, you basically have to lay on your stomach and work under “toward the front” of the vehicle. You will not see them simply by looking straight down through the rear floor plate. This is why I removed the seat, in order to gain easier access.

Park the machine on a level surface. Put the backhoe in the transport position with the stabilizers down. Also put the loader bucket on the floor. Raise the wheels off the floor high enough to remove the transmission. Put suitable stands under both sides of the machine at the front and rear.
