Why does my John Deere make a clanging noise when I Turn on the engine?

When I turn on the engine the belt that goes to the back of the tracker underneath the seat is turning a pulley (I guess). Clearly now it’s coming from this area. Might be rubbing against something or something more complicated. That is the drive idler pulley imtalking about.

Hi there. The ones I’ve worked on have been very good. Just make sure there is no play in the rear pivot. It gets expensive to repair. Should be very well greased. I take it you are looking at the 24/24 transmission. The power shifts are ok but use a twin disc box. What about the 8870? Any experience with em? I found one with about 4500 hrs.
