Why does my John Deere mower keep clicking?

When I hear the rapid clicking , I think of a low battery. Can you check the battery voltage , it should be at least 12.5 volts, Then with meter in same place, go the the start position and see if you have any voltage drop. I know it says you replaced the battery, but it still needs to be checked. Cables could be loose or not making good contact.

How can I tell if my John Deere mower is starting?

If that checks ok, go to the starter solenoid and see if when you go to start, are you getting battery voltage to the relay side of the solenoid.(small switch wire). If so, is the solenoid putting the voltage to the starter terminal.(the one that the battery positive cable is Not on).
