I have a 2003 International 4300 with a DT466. I just had all the O-rings on the injectors replaced along with the wiring harness that goes to the injectors. Now once the truck gets up to running temp it starts to sputter/miss. Truck runs GREAT cold but once warm gets worse.

The truck will crank and accelerate great, then it begins smoking and goes into a limp mode with little pedal reaction. If you raise the rpm’s the smoke goes from whitish grey to dark almost black, but only when you raise the rpm’s.
How often does a DT466 give up the ghost?
The only difference betwene the two is how light your pocket will be. If its not the issue youre only out 25 or 30 bucks. Had mine go a couple times they usualy give up the ghost every 50,000 to 100,000 as long as you dont run too hot and driving conditions.

Is the dt466e a lack of power?
The second you put it in gear it has no power. 20 mph top speed. Tested fuel pressure today at the filter. It is only reading 40 lbs at idle and it dips down to 34 or so when accelerating. I assume this is a fuel problem, but what is the problem and where do we start? Thanks in advance if anyone has done this one.

We have a 2002 International 4300 with the automatic trans w/ park. We have been having some really bad transmission problems with it. The truck will run fine for 2 days then all of the sudden the “check trans” light will come on and the truck will not shift out of low gear.

Check the harness on the left side of the firewall under the hood . When the hood is close, it pull the harness out of the firewall giving it a bad connection at the connector.Had this problem on 3 late model 4300″s.
What kind of fuel mileage does a dt466e get?
Btw: I have the 230 hp 660 tq engine and there seems to be plenty of power to run the 3.70 rear. I’ll have to hit the mfg. website and check how gradeability with the 3.70 compares to the 4.10, also I have to consider the cost, if the cost is higher than the possible fuel savings then I’ll just have to live with it.
What should fuel pressure be in 2005 DT466?
You will see the pressure relief ball. It may be partially unseated by debris causing a drop in fuel pressure. Anyway, you will notice a compuchek fitting on the top of the filter housing cap. You plug in a fuel pressure gauge here to test your fuel pressure. Need 20 psi to start, 65 psi is normal running pressure.

I have had a small problem with it before, usually first thing in the AM. But now it doesn’t want to start no matter what time of the day it is. If its been sitting for any length of time it cranks and will finally start after about 45 seconds. There is nothing else wrong with this truck, this is the only problem it is giving me now.
