What is a Vsim module?

The Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM) is specifically designed to make it easy to upfitRAM trucks. The VSIM has many hard wired inputs and outputs (through the VSIM jumper harnesses) . It also has J1939 communication bus output signals as well as input commands starting in 2019.

Where are the auxiliary switches on a ram truck?

Ram 2500/3500 vehicles have 5 auxiliary switches. These switches are integrated into the vehicles electrical architecture (LIN signals) with their outputs found underhood in connectors located on the auxiliary PDC. Please note that these switches are hard wired to only switch power (12V) via their relays.

Where are the aux switches on a 3500 longhorn?

I just picked up my 3500 Longhorn with aux switches. Switches are integrated into the overall electronics. Configuration is done through the commercial menu on th dash. (Normal on, normal off, momentary, etc). On the drivers side firewall towards the top are two Deutsch connectors that are used with the wiring harnesses that are included.

Do you need to install an aux switch?

Click to expand… Control what though the screen? If you hook anything up and want to control it via a switch, you will have to install your own switch… or you can likely buy the panel/harness and install it… hopefully it doesn’t need the dealer to flash to make it work. Do you wire to the factory upfitter / aux switches?

Am i correct thinking, that you wire the + lead only to the harness for the switches under the hood and just terminate the – wherever there is a nice solid spot for it and it doesnt need to be run back to the harness also? Click to expand… That’s how I did mine. Then you can program the switch to be momentary, ignition powered, or always powered.
