Won’t shift into 5th or reverse! :- ( OK, so I bought the car thinking this would be an easy fix, but after several hours of fussing with linkage adjustments, I can’t get it to go in 5th or reverse. Sometimes shifting the lever in the car, it sure feels like you are hitting the correct gates, but the car is NOT in reverse of 5th.
Can you access 5th gear and reverse on manual trans?
No because both 5th and reverse are on the same side, I also cannot access reverse. I have no problems with the other gears. I’ve read that it may be a couple of different things but not sure. any ideas? I recently had an almost identical problem on a VW; could not access 5th gear; went into 3rd instead.
Can a car reverse at a high speed?
