When I start my car it is on 1 rpm. It drives well but when I try to accelerate over 30mph it won’t accerelate but my rpms go all the way up. The torque converter lockup in our case slipped and caused the shudder at 20-30 mph @ about 2000 rpm. In my case, the mechanic installed a torque converter that was re-designed to handle the load and fortunately, I only had to pay a deductible.
