Speed sensors are part of a vehicle’s anti-lock braking system (ABS). The various components of the speed sensors can gather dirt from the road and from the dust that is generated by constant sharp braking. Speed sensors need to be cleaned on a regular basis to avoid damaging the anti-lock braking system.
What to do if ABS wheel speed sensor goes out?
If the ABS wheel speed sensor was faulty, once the new hub/sensor is installed, and you drive the vehicle, the warning lights should go out. To determine what is going on, you can manually erase the trouble codes using an appropriate scan tool and if the warning lights stay off, then the problem is resolved.
When is the best time to clean ABS sensor?
