How many amps does a Dodge Ram battery have?

Reading starts and stays as 12.18 amps. Click to expand… You don’t do an Amp draw across terminals, you use a CT around the positive cable. He is talking about voltage drop as without the truck running and the power being used the battery’s voltage is going down resulting in a dead battery.

How does parasitic battery drain work on a Dodge Ram?

Is the Optima battery good for a diesel truck?

IMHO – DITTO to what Triden said. Not built for the power needed in a Diesel Truck and how important a strong battery is to the diesel engine. Im sure many members have done well with Optima, but as i said its just my opinion here and from what I learned from friends with them they just don’t last as long and do the job required for a diesel truck.
