Why do I get p0148 on my Dodge Ram 3500?
Why do I get p0148 on my Dodge Ram 3500?
I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 5.9 original transmission. I do have a bullydog (it sucks) and have tried the truck in multiple settings and still get the code. The p0148 has plagued me for a while I have a code reader and I know it’s a fuel pressure checksum issue.
Why does my fuel pressure sensor say p0148?
If there is no fuel smell, or if your test of the fuel lines and rails indicates no leaks, then the P0148 code is likely indicating a fuel control actuator (FCA) problem, or a problem in the fuel pressure sensor itself.
What does high pressure common rail code p0148 mean?
P0148 – High Pressure Common Rail Checksum Error (Dodge/Ram) 19 Sep If there is no fuel smell, or if your test of the fuel lines and rails indicates no leaks, then the P0148 code is likely indicating a fuel control actuator (FCA) problem, or a problem in the fuel pressure sensor itself.
What to do if the p0251 code returns?
If you have a scan tool, clear the diagnostic trouble codes from memory, and see if P0251 code returns. If it does not, then the connections were most likely your problem. If the P0251 code does return, we will need to test the FRP sensor and its associated circuits.

What should the fuel pressure be in a Dodge Ram?
Yeah, normal fuel pressure should be around 50-55 psi. Maybe a defective pump? My Jeep had similar symptoms a few years back. Wasn’t east to see or find, but there was a small crimp in the fuel line where it went through the firewall. I fellas, am I correct in thinking that the minimum fuel pressure is 47 psi?
How to test the fuel pump in a Dodge Ram?
Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the Schrader valve (see image 1 of 3 and image 2 of 3). A) Release the fuel pressure in the fuel line (see: Fuel Pressure Release Procedure ). B) Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel injector rail.
Why does my Dodge Ram 2500 have no power?
Customer complaint was severe lack of power and performance on this 05 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel 5.9 Cummins. I graphed the data with my Snap-on Modis. It really felt like loss of fuel or an excessive exhaust back pressure issue.
What causes a Cummins diesel to not start?
One of the most common problems I see on common rail Cummins, is the pressure relief valve, or PRV for short. For those unsure of exactly what I am talking about, this is the large fitting on top of the fuel rail that has a fuel line attached to the top of it via a banjo bolt that then returns fuel back to the factory fuel filter.
What are the symptoms of a fuel delivery code p0148?
Symptoms of a P0148 code may include: The strong odor of diesel fuel Other fuel and engine drivability related codes may be stored Potential causes for this code to set are: Open or shorted high pressure fuel supply system wiring and/or connectors Malfunctioning fuel pump or PCM power supply relay

Can a high pressure sensor be replaced on a Dodge?
On many Dodge models, however, replacement costs are low and those with knowledge of high pressure fuel systems should be able to replace both the FCA and its pressure sensor easily. Still, it’s worth nothing that you must be very careful when working on a high pressure fuel system.
