Why is my MiniDisc not playing any CDs?

I can’t even play CDs any more because I can hear the minidisc constantly loading with a sort of shuffling noise. Maybe the MD label has peeled and is causing a jam? You would really need to give the model no. if you were after technical help although MDs are not exactly current.
