There are quite a few engines that will produce a “tick” noise when the incorrect oil filter is used, although I can’t remember a 318 being affected by this. Other possibilities are a badly worn engine mounted fuel pump or a very loose timing chain.

If you have a 3rd generation 5.9 (approximately 2003 to 2007) and you have not yet had a #4 injector tube failure, I suggest you look into this further.

Thank you. i have a 2004 ram 2500 5.7 hemi its 4 wheel drive . everything is great when i first take off , after driving it for awhile aprx 10 miles at 65 mph or above when i stop and then take off there is a vibration from underneith , it only lasts for about 2 seconds and then its fine until i stop . any ideas thnx

Ultimately I wound up at redline 5/30 because it covered all the bases for me. M1, PUP, Amsoil, Redline are all great oils but from many of the reports you will have to make up you’re own mind what to use. For some reason these Hemi’s are finnaky about what they like and not all are the same. U&A and tidefan1967 like this.
