I ran into a similar problem and the only fan clutch that would work properly was the oem mopar fan clutch, I replaced it twice with aftermarkets and the temp would get hot sometimes as you describe, especially after a good hard run then coming to an idle it would get warm, also the a/c would never blow cold at idle speed.

I think I understand how to remove it. Simply hold the pulley still with a tool by inserting something into 2 of the 4 holes and that holds the pulley still. Then with a wrench turn the nut holding the fan onto the pulley in the counterclockwise direction and the fan/clutch fall off.

Last resort would be to saw off the nut closest to the back of the clutch fan but don’t know if a hack saw goes in there (maybe easier if you remove the fan blade from the clutch first).
