Why does my a / C gauge go into the red when I connected?
Your vehicle should be on and the AC set to MAX Cool with the Fan Speed on high. If you do not do this the gauge will go into the red area. However, if your compressor is on and the gauge goes into the red, you have other issues and you should take your vehicle to a mechanic. Need help finding the low-side A/C port?

In the photo above the blue hose is connected to the left-hand low pressure gauge port, while its free end is connected to a right-hand blind port. When in use the free end of the low pressure gauge is removed from its “blind port” and is then connected to the low side of the system at that service port.
