Why does my Dodge Ram have a strong coolant smell?
Nothing is leaking on the ground and I cannot see any leaks. Any ideas. Brandon-w likes this. Are you losing coolant? If there is a few drops of coolant spilled or splashed or oozing from a gasket or cap it can have a strong coolant smell.I usually spray some engine cleaner and hose down my truck in and under it and do a good rinse.

2014 ram 2500 with 5.7. Same it’s now and then. Never used a drop of coolant zero leaks. Everything works as it should. Think others had this too in hd section. Im not losing coolant just smells like it if I walk in front of the radiators.
Can a 6.4L engine have a coolant leak?
I have crawled all over that 6.4L looking for the leak. It never leaves a puddle on the ground or in the engine compartment anywhere. There’s no white residue indicative of a coolant leak. I gave up after I noticed my coolant wasn’t really going anywhere, the level stayed constant.
