Why did the airbags not deploy in the crash?
Why did the airbags not deploy in the crash?
OP don’t worry about it, airbags are triggered by a deceleration sensor, if you didn’t slow down above a set rate of speed, they don’t deploy. They aren’t needed as they can cause real injury (break your neck) in the wrong circumstances.
What happens if the airbag does not go off?
You’re lucky the airbag did not go off unless it was a serious collision. They aren’t a soft cushion for you to bounce off when you collide. They could cause more injuries if they aren’t set off at the right speed or impact. The OP will probably find the seatbelt pretensioners went off though.
Can a frontal impact not deploy an airbag?
A lot of frontal impacts won’t deploy airbags. If you had been asking this with an imprint of your steering wheel in your chest and with glass splinters in your forehead, you would be right to question it, as before the days of airbags we would see plenty of windscreens cracked and bits of skin and hair embedded in the glass from the driver !!

What does it mean when your airbags wont turn off?
You may know that your airbag light won’t turn off, from your car. Your vehicle will tell you with either a flashing or illuminating light on your computer or dashboard display. When does the airbag light turn on without a scanner?
Some cars have a “passenger seat Airbag on/off button.” This is the first airbag light you should check when you want to remove the airbag light without a scanner. If the light is functioning well, it should turn on when someone occupies the passenger seat.
Why is the airbag light on when the seat is vacant?
If the seat is vacant, this light should be on. When the seat is occupied it should turn off implying that the airbag system is online and functioning. If the light is off when the seat is vacant or vice-versa, there could be a problem with the sensor.
When does the air bag light stop flashing?
The light will flash for exactly seven seconds. Once it is off, you have to turn off the ignition within a second. Turn the ignition on again after three seconds.
