Is the cv shaft on a Dodge Ram replaceable?
Bought a new CV shaft and installed it and it is still sloppy on the stub shaft. Talked to the local Chrysler garage and the guy tells me I will have to replace the whole differential and the axle shaft is not replaceable like the drivers side. Is this indeed the way it is or was he feeding me a line of BS.
Where is the CV axle on a Ram 1500?
With out pulling your wheel bearing, it should be impossible for it to come out. The clip is on the splined area of the output shaft coming out of the diff and the CV axle is pushed on and over the clip to hold the axle on the output shaft.
When to replace stub shaft on Dodge Ram 1500?
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 4×4 with 90,000 miles and noticed a rattle going over bumps coming from the front drivers side. Got underneath and looked at the CV shaft and this is what I found: Figuring its time to replace the CV shaft and stub shaft. Do you guys agree?
