2018 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT here, and exact same issue. both my wife and I’s FOBs failed completely. (i didnt know the hard key is within the FOB…..stupid me), managed to get to a point at the ski hill to get my UConnect to open it, and start the truck and go. Got home….they worked fine.

I believe I may have just figured out the problem on my own key fob for my 2013 1500. I opened up the fob, pulled out the circuit board, removed the battery, and took a key and raised up the 3 prongs under the battery ever so slightly. This way, the battery comes in better contact with those prongs.

After taking the key fod apart, took a pencil eraser and cleaned the contact points on the circuit board and those located on the rear of the rubber tabs. After cleaning the points, I installed the battery and reassembled the key fod. It worked perfectly after the reassembly. Hopefully this was helpful to guys/gals.
