Bringing back an old thread because this just happened to me. My odometer started blinking today at about 5,400 miles. No oil change message, no other lights/symbols. My car, stereo, and cluster are stock. No apparent reason for the blinking. I disconnected the negative battery terminal for a minute then re-connected.

Hammer time! Thanks Clair, that sounds like a foboff answer, It does stop when turned off and re started. Cannot believe that an overloaded wire would cause that kind of issue though. It is true though. In older cars you had wires going every which way connecting up different things.

I have a 2000 dodge dakota 3.9L. The instrument cluster is not working for it. I had replaced the cluster 4 different times. Contacted the dodge dealership and made sure the cluster was the right part number i have. Which it is. I had replaced the fuse for the cluster and cleaned the connections.
