Can a bad fuel distributor cause a truck to not start?
Can a bad fuel distributor cause a truck to not start?
If you have rpm signal crank sensor is good. Yes they have a fuel distributor that’s a problem most times plastic fuel lines will crack. But it would still fire up and run bad. If it has a bad PCM a scan tool most times will not communicate with it.
What kind of truck won’t start or fire?
I have a 1997 Chevy Z71 just put new trans in drove for about 20 miles and the truck just died………Replaced fuel pump, Fuel relay and found that the fuel fuzz blows every time I turn key on ???? 24 people found this helpful. 22 people found this helpful.
What causes the fuel pump to not start?
The fuel pump is running and delivering normal pressure to the engine But, with all that working your engine still will not start. So, the most likely cause, is that the fuel injectors are probably not opening. The (PCM) uses the trigger signal from the crankshaft position sensor; and/or camshaft position sensor to pulse the injectors.
What causes a car to not start with no gas?
Problem may be at wiring connector on top of fuel tank (hard to reach!). No gas in fuel tank (Check the fuel gauge, and keep in mind the gauge may not be reading accurately). Bad gas (Contaminated with water or too much alcohol or diesel fuel). If you just filled up with gas and now your car won’t start, suspect bad gas.

Why does my car engine not want to start?
If the engine still doesn’t seem like it wants to start, probably fuel is getting into the cylinders and your problems lies somewhere else. However, if the engine runs momentarily and dies, then the problem is that fuel is not getting to the cylinders. Check for a clogged fuel filter, or a bad fuel pressure regulator.
Are there any problems with an old pickup truck?
The older models of this full-size truck are more likely to have engine problems, so if you decide this is the used truck for you, do some careful research on the engine before you buy one. Other scary problems include the death wobble, unintended acceleration, and premature braking.
Can a 2003 Cummins have a hard start?
One of the most common calls we get are from customers with a 2003-2007 Cummins that have developed either a hard start or no start condition. In order to help out, we had our very own Tyler Lucas, put together this step by step tutorial that you will hopefully find insightful.
What causes a ram truck to not start?
First off, let’s get this out of the way, Ram trucks NEVER had the best luck with lift pumps. A lack of lift pump flow will not only cause a no start issue, but depending on how it failed, can cause other issues that we will discuss further into this post. The factory lift pumps on the 2003-2007 Cummins produce a dismal 10-11.5 PSI at idle.
What causes a Dodge truck to Buck and go?
If you give it a lot of throttle, it will push thru it and go. Driving between 40-50mph while holding a steady speed, the truck will buck hard, and at random. The problem is much worse when cold (meaning first start up/drive of the day) and is not as pronounced when the engine is completely warmed up, but it is still there.
Why does my Chevy truck run like poop?

What causes a Chevy 2500HD to lose power under load?
Probably P0087. Check the fuel hoses at the side of the trans– they can get kinked, weak and collapse. I’ve just experienced a very similar situation with my 2005 2500HD. After driving about 2 hours, over varying terrain, I had to stop at a light (not the first on the trip).
Why does my Dodge truck hesitate to go?
I can feel the whole truck shake, and the rpm rolls from near stalling to 1500+rpms. When you put it in drive, it stumbles a bit while holding the brake. When you go to give it light throttle…it hesitates, surges and stumbles as it tries to get moving. If you give it a lot of throttle, it will push thru it and go.
