Press down and hold the phone button and the VR button simultaneously. Turn Your ignition off, and open Your door. Wait for a count of 30 to 40 seconds, then close the door again. Start the engine, and the Uconnect will be reset.
Why is my park assist not working on my Dodge Dart?
Just had my rear bumper cover repainted and the park assist needs to be reset. The painter took the rear bumper cover off as I expected him to do. When I get into the selection screen it won’t let me select the park assist option for some reason and it stays locked out. It worked fine before the cover was removed and the rear sensors reconnected.

Make sure to call the body shop and inform them of your issue. If the dealer charges you for this (which is a high possibility) make sure to let them know you expect compensation for that since it was their fault. Dealer’s don’t like doing free work. Even if it’s a simple plug in and go.

Got the U1504 code again so I know that’s from having the battery disconnected now. Started the car and turned the steering wheel a few times then the code reader was able to erase it. The code is for the steering wheel position sensor by the way. Did absolutely nothing for the Park Assisted Disabled problem though.

@mstromquist, Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery shouldn’t hurt anything if done properly: make sure everything is turned off, doors closed, etc. Probably want to wait a few minutes before reconnecting the battery. Don’t know if this is the cure for your situation. I will give it a shot in the morning before heading to the dealer.
Can a dealer replace the ignition switch on a Dodge Dart?
Yes, you could have a dealer do it or if you get the alfaOBD app, you should be able to do it yourself. The RFHM Verification test needs to be done when that ignition switch is replaced. NOTE: If other electronic modules need to be replaced, besides the RF-Hub, see the “Replacement and Programming Order Guide” before proceeding.
