Discussion in ‘ Engine & Performance ‘ started by Red ram 66, Jan 10, 2019 . Hi guys I have a 2005 dodge ram and this problem just showed up the other day. When my truck is idling my check gauge light comes on and the oil pressure gauge drops to almost nothing.
I have a 98 dodge Durango 4×4 with the 5.2 magnum v8 super charged camed and when its idling its fine but when it gets warmed up it drops and even when I put it in gear and when I’m driving down the road and when I took the supercharger off it was doing the same thing and can’t figure it out 1 people found this helpful.

Look at it this way. If the theory is that an oil pump is worn out with the pump being the first thing that sees oil when the engine is started doesn’t it stand to reason that everything after the pump is also worn to the same degree or worse? I’d bet there was nothing wrong with the old pump.
