My 2015 Durango with the 3.6 and zf 8 speed is approaching 50,000 miles. All the other cars I’ve owned I always thought that meant to drain and refill the tranny fluid.
Is it expensive to change transmission fluid in Dodge Durango?
Yes the change is expensive due to both the cost of the special fluid and the fact that the whole plastic pan (integral fluid filter) has to be replaced. Also the procedure for checking the the correct fluid level is a real PITA. I recently went thru this, but haven’t changed it yet.

Is there dipstick for Dodge Durango SRT transmission?
If you choose to have it done, it will cost an arm and a leg. For my SRT, this issue is addressed on page 423/424 of the 2018 Durango SRT owners manual…and it is consistent with what the mechanic said. Filled for life. No dipstick, either, so an easy check of fluid color is not possible.
